Welcome to Koiteli located by river Kiiminkijoki to spend a wonderful day outdoors in good company! The word Koiteli comes from Sami language and it means “in the middle” - here in Koiteli you get to enjoy fun outdoor activities in an island located in the middle of two rapids. 

Beautiful surroundings, ancient trees and the silence give a feeling of being also in the center of yourself.

You get to try walking on snowshoes, cross country skiing and traditional kick sledge ‘potkuri’ ride! All these activities will give you the taste of traditional Finnish ways of moving in snow in the early days. A local herder tells you stories of reindeer and reindeer herding. And of course everyone will experience a short ride in a sledge pulled by the reindeer.

After the snow activities we will enjoy coffee or tea while everyone will have the chance to make their own souvenir out of wood, leather and pine wood tar. So you will get the scent of Koiteli to take home with you.

Program includes: Activities as described above, services of our English speaking guides, coffee/tea and sweet pastry.

OPTIONAL SERVICES:

Soup lunch: Salmon or mushroom or vegetable soup, bread, water and juice.  

3 course dinner: Mushroom or vegetable soup, salmon cooked by open fire, baked potatoes and salad, lingonberry dream, bread, water and juice.

Lunch will be enjoyed by an open fire (please note, lunch is an optional service) and if you decide to book this program for evening you'll get to enjoy the exciting nightless night with 3 course dinner; salmon cooked by open fire as a main course.
